LEXI This is one of our more sculptural pieces. The designer was inspired by a depiction of a little girl dancing in her garden, encapsulating the moment by recreating the pleats on the dancer’s dress as they swirled in the wind, using the vertical solid timber louvres that array round the table to form the legs. UP, DOWN Similar to the popular puzzle video game Tetris, the up, down table consists of a pair of two cubes with varying heights (185mm and 290mm) that allow the freedom to arrange a format that best suits the space. The table by itself is a simple cube with a small plinth underneath to create a minor shadow gap. The centre table is available in laminate, veneer and lacquer, It is accentuated by a contrast in texture and or colour. DANJI ABDULRAHEEM A residential project designed for a two-parent household with four teenage to adult children. The brief was for a subtly luxurious, contemporary-style house with neutral colours and hints of cool vibrant colours, mainly blue and green. During the design phase, the homeowners showed an affinity toward French wall panelling. After considering all the wants and needs of the client - the want for contemporary style but love for the classic French Boiserie, AFP decided to have a fusion of the two styles, arriving at the less ornate wall panels that are still reminiscent of the traditional French panels. The master bedroom was designed with neutral walls with the same Boiserie panelling, along with striking green headboard, in accordance with the hints of cool vibrant colours as requested by the client. This theme also repeats itself in the walk-in closet with built-in units and the kitchen, saturated with the calm blue used in some of the cabinets. The majority of the house is detailed with gold trimmings, from gold-framed artworks to sideboards and partitions storage units embellished with gold inlays and gold silk fabric, achieving the essence of subtle luxury. JOHNSON ADEYEMI A penthouse situated in Victoria Island, Lagos designed for a two-parent household with three children. The design called for only the essentials: a living room, dining, kitchen and en suite bedrooms. They wanted a contemporary, clean living space devoid of unnecessary embellishment and ornaments while still exuding luxury and high-class standing. Starting with the living room, upon entering into the residence, you are greeted by a large, elaborate wall panel designed with contrasting textures that holds the T.V, and other storage units. The kitchen was meticulously designed to optimise kitchen dynamics, facilitating a streamlined cooking experience. Staying true to the clean design requested, the kitchen was designed in a high gloss white laminate, the use of this slightly reflective white laminate creates an illusion of a more spacious kitchen. The bedrooms are fully fitted with wardrobes and TV/dressing units. The master bedroom is particularly impressive, featuring a bathroom with twin or double vanity units and walk-in closet fully equipped with an island for jewellery and other intricate items. EXECUTIVE OFFICE Another depiction of the versatility of AFP’s ranges, this executive office is a space in our showroom situated in Idu dedicated to office design. Here we tackle the classic, masculine office design style, typically done with dark wood, leather and hardwood floors. AFP takes something so antique and modernises it, making it more applicable to today's climate while upholding elements and materials that stay true to the style. The wall panels are embellished with dark wooden moldings/profiles and leather-upholstered boards that also hold the simple rectangular wall lamps. Thus we created a hybrid Boiserie to emphasise the contemporary antiquity of our age. The contrast between the dark wood and light cream leather gives the space a more dynamic character, striking interest and conversation. The space is furnished with the Aso Desk finished with an eye-catching burl veneer and the same leather upholstered on the wall panel for continuity. All projects

FILM REEL A home cinema designed for a family of theatre and film enthusiasts. This space is designed as an initiative to increase family bonding time. They all agreed they wanted a mix between a traditional theatre and a luxury commercial cinema. AFP achieved this fusion with the use of wall panelling. The walls of the cinema room were decorated in a strong red velvet fabric, reminiscent of the walls of a theatre. To avoid monotony, the fabric is broken with wood at intervals. The room is equipped with fully automated recliner chairs with ample sitting space and thick armrest for extra comfort. Like the desired luxury cinema, the cinema chairs are strategically placed on an elevated plane to further push the commercial cinema-going experience to the finish line. Amber mood is achieved with lighting design to inspire reverence and anticipation for what thrills are to come. All projects

IVY LEO A compilation of the bedroom scenes in our showroom in Maitama, Abuja. This compilation includes depictions of luxury hotel rooms fully fitted with an elaborate free-standing double bed accompanied by a single night case and side table, positioned on each side of the bed. The hotel room has a hybrid TV/dressing unit, a combination of a floating table with a small portion of the edge resting on the sideboard close to it, all collectively resting/mounted against the grooved wall panelling on the wall behind. As per hotel standard, the room also has a styling luggage rack. Alternatively, there is another room - the master bedroom with a built-in wardrobe unit and a double bed that rests against an upholstered wall panel which also functions as the headboard, continued with a bedroom bench identified as Pouf. The master bedroom has a free-standing unit with grove detailed doors and drawers that functions as a dresser/TV unit. The room is completed with a small reading area that includes a wingback chair, footrest and side table, and a sizable bathroom with a suspended vanity unit and an inset washbasin. All projects

THE LAGOON The lagoon, inspired by themes of water, its characteristics and ways. The desired setting/ mood is split in two; bar and cafe, the bar to service the night and cafe to service the day. The lagoon offers the fine experience of lounging, listening to the soft percussion of the piano in a dimly lit room, setting the mood for relaxation and mild conversation. The Lagoon’s ( water) theme is symbolised primarily with fluid geometry, Circles and irregular shapes which is presented in the space by means of wall clads, partitions and ceiling fixtures. These were achieved by machining the desired shapes into and out of engineered boards, further embellishing them with lights for more dimension. Following the theme of the water, the lowered part of the ceiling was made to be concentric with the bar below similar to the ripples in water; all the traffic in the bar is made to flow around that point. On the other hand-the cafe, nested adjacent to an array of windows is well illuminated natural light which is further extended with the use of reflective surfaces and enhanced with light materials to ultimately create a lively environment for morning coffee or lunch flavoured with the view of the beautiful abuja skyline All projects

A free standing shelf that found itself bearing many similarities with the chair of a tennis umpire, Ace’s two lateral pieces are made with solid timber and connected together at several points with the multiple shelves made with composite wood boards. The ace is lightweight and can be moved from place to place with ease. A fully wooden bed with the headboard in the simple shape that could be described as half of an elongated octagon, slightly reminiscent of gambrel roof, the Maitama bed stands at less than a metre tall, earning itself the title of the shortest bed in the AFP collection. The Boston is a stylish storage unit with four doors that span from the bottom to slightly beyond the top of the sideboard, thus acting as a handle. It is accentuated with flower lines of the veneer laminated upon its surfaces. The sideboard comes in two variations, both elevated above the floor by a solid timber frame, one variant is with plain doors while the other has grooved doors. Both are available in laminate, veneer coloured lacquer. It is characterised by its rounded wooden profile that frames the inside of the sideboards parameters with the four doors situated within this frame. The general form is a cuboid which rests on four small legs that create a shadow gap giving the illusion of float. It is available in laminates, veneer and different wood types and stains. The ‘C’ houses the minor profile which is anchored to the top and bottom by a vertical piece. This table is distinguished by a contrast in colour or texture, which further emphasises the individual forms. It is available in one size. KEYPORT ENTERPRISES A brokerage firm situated in a leased office space in a commercial high-rise building located in the central business district of Abuja. The company requested the design of two office categories: Executive and Standard. The Executive being designated for the Founder/MD and Standard Office for his subordinates, which were a total of four. Indicating interest in new age, fluid office design that makes for a lenient but productive working environment. AFP approached this request with the use of smart glass partitions to prevent the usual clustered feeling associated with confined spaces with opaque walls. The Executive Office was designed with a spacious work desk (the Wing Desk), comfortably accommodating the MD and two visitors. Additionally, a lavish lounge area was incorporated to allow him unwind when necessary. Due to spatial constraints, the office also serves as the venue for large company meetings and is equipped with an organised storage system. The Standard Offices were all designed with the Angle Desk unit and the drawer box attachment for storage. The desk accommodates the official and a single visitor. The Standard Office also boasts ample storage space and a small lounge area that make for a versatile work environment. All projects

Its beauty is heavily dependent on the intricate distribution of the grains of the wood used to construct it. Four legs, connected at the bottom of the seat plate, are further stabilised along the length of the legs with a metal hoop, achieving an appealing contrast in materials and giving the stool its identity. The flat circular seat is finished with a hole in the middle and chamfered along the edge of its circumference.
