The legs are strong, massive and give the table its main defining factor. The conference table is made out of composite wood boards, finished with laminate or veneer. The table can be provided with a hub for electrical outlets for public address systems and other media equipment. It is part of a large system and can be made available in other sizes. The designer was inspired by a depiction of a little girl dancing in her garden, encapsulating the moment by recreating the pleats on the dancer’s dress as they swirled in the wind, using the vertical solid timber louvres that array round the table to form the legs. Their forms are dynamic and create an illusion of movement. The Lago TV unit is acclaimed for its collapsing and expanding frame, which can be adjusted to fit most spatial requirements. Both units are equipped with ample storage, making them suitable for residential arrangements. With the Panda sofa, the designer tried to incorporate the features of the fuzzy animal into functional, practical contemporary furniture. The Panda’s rounded form is achieved with a sound substance composed of composite wood and solid timber which is upholstered in fabric or leather. The sofa is available in only one size. SIDEBOARD A function driven design for conventional office spaces, made up of two cabinets situated on the left and right and one or two columns of a set of four drawers which consolidate to form the office sideboard. AFP Hosts Customers to Exclusive Reception at its Maitama-Abuja Showroom March 31, 2023 Julius Berger-AFP, the furniture production, home design and implementation wing of the leading construction company, Julius Berger Nigeria Plc has hosted its customers to an exclusive reception at its showroom in Abuja. The event brought the Julius Berger-AFP Management and its highly valued clients together to toast in celebration of its resilience and progressive quality and growth culture. The event, which held at the high-end Gana Street Maitama showroom of AFP, was also an opportunity for the AFP and its clients to mutually explore the AFP’s ever widening, globally competitive and classy range of furniture and furnishing options defined by pioneering and efficient home design solutions. The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Malam Muhammad Musa Bello, who was represented by Arc. Olugbadebo Adebowale Ademo, the Director of Public Building in the FCT, stated that the administration is concerned with quality work in and around the city and will always partner with professional firms that can enhance government efforts. The Minister, who praised the AFP, added that the FCT administration will always strive to enhance Abuja’s aesthetics to world class. According to the Hon. Minister, “AFP has been a major partner in the development of the city; it is well known for producing high quality furniture over the years. So, we want it to continue to complement government’s efforts” . AFP at Design Week Lagos 2023 October 25, 2023 The Chairman of the Board of Directors, Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, Mr. Mutiu Sunmonu, CON, has affirmed that considering the superbly evolving designs, development, productive competence and reliability of the Abuja Furniture Production (AFP), the furniture subsidiary of Julius Berger, the company’s ever expanding clientele and happy customers are continuing to experience the company’s deliveries as a total and one-stop shop for top-end quality with regard to durable products and reliable after-sales services. Speaking at the just concluded 2023 Lagos Design Week in Lekki, Lagos, weekend, the Julius Berger Chairman said, “I must say that AFP has been growing qualitatively stronger and progressively more innovative over the past decade. The clear difference between AFP products and service offerings in the market relative to others is, to be modest, like day and night with AFP as the undisputed leader of the furniture sector frontlines. The Boston bed is a fellowship of three: two upholstered headboards of different heights and the bed base constructed with composite wood boards. Boston is the largerst item in the AFP bed collection with its headboard spanning over four metres. This contemporary minimalist sofa comes in a variety of sizes and arrangements namely; single, double and triple. The collection includes an ottoman that is attached to the seater to form an L-shaped sofa. The sofa is lightly ornamented with the subtle tufts mapped on the loose cushion. The tufting detail repeats itself on the ottoman with more emphasis in its depression giving its simple cuboid form more character. KEYPORT ENTERPRISES A brokerage firm situated in a leased office space in a commercial high-rise building located in the central business district of Abuja. The company requested the design of two office categories: Executive and Standard. The Executive being designated for the Founder/MD and Standard Office for his subordinates, which were a total of four. Indicating interest in new age, fluid office design that makes for a lenient but productive working environment. AFP approached this request with the use of smart glass partitions to prevent the usual clustered feeling associated with confined spaces with opaque walls. The Executive Office was designed with a spacious work desk (the Wing Desk), comfortably accommodating the MD and two visitors. Additionally, a lavish lounge area was incorporated to allow him unwind when necessary. Due to spatial constraints, the office also serves as the venue for large company meetings and is equipped with an organised storage system. The Standard Offices were all designed with the Angle Desk unit and the drawer box attachment for storage. The desk accommodates the official and a single visitor. The Standard Office also boasts ample storage space and a small lounge area that make for a versatile work environment. All projects

The Alpha was designed to encourage the appreciation of form and execution. This armchair presents itself with two distinctive forms: cuboids and quadrants. The cuboids comprise the seating area (the backrest and seat) while the quadrants function as the armrest and leg that suspend the seat and backrest slightly off the floor. The cuboids are made of a wooden substructure upholstered in foam and fabric/ leather, embellished with a piping, while the armrest is skilfully curved with a vacuum-assisted veneer lamination process. The sofa takes the odd proportions of the flamingo and balances them to make a practical seating experience, drawing inspiration from their large bodies and skinny angled legs. The sofa is presented by its thin backrest that connects to the base and thick cushions reminiscent of the body of the bird. The modular sofa can be arranged to fit a myriad of settings, making it suitable for bars, public lounges, as well as residential spaces. Its beauty is heavily dependent on the intricate distribution of the grains of the wood used to construct it. Four legs, connected at the bottom of the seat plate, are further stabilised along the length of the legs with a metal hoop, achieving an appealing contrast in materials and giving the stool its identity. The flat circular seat is finished with a hole in the middle and chamfered along the edge of its circumference.
