AFP Wins Turnkey Furnishing Contract for Nigerian Petroleum Development Company Head Office January 21, 2021 Abuja Furniture Production (AFP), the furniture production unit of Nigeria’s pace-setting and most reliable engineering construction company, Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, has won its bid to provide turnkey furnishing for the Head Office of the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company (NPDC), a subsidiary of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC). AFP, it may be recalled, is the leading furniture production and furnishing design and implementation company in Nigeria. AFP has consistently on the merit won ‘Nigeria’s leading furniture company of the Year’ award for the last four consecutive years at the very highly rated annual Abuja International Housing Show which is reputed to be professionally governed by international best practices. AFP clients across the country are united in opinion that its works are proudly powered by the finest attention to detail and due diligence and are accomplished with the strictest adherence to best international standards in delivery. At the 4th annual consecutive award of ‘Nigeria’s leading furniture company of the Year’ to AFP in Abuja in December last year, the Head of the Media Relations Office of Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, Prince Moses Duku, confidently said: “…at Julius Berger, we mean Business, because we know the customer is King”. The Concept tabletop consists of a solid timber rectangular frame, connected seamlessly to form a resting place for the veneer laminated board that sits within it. The table's legs taper towards the bottom to give it a lighter appearance. The concept table is available in several solid wood types, veneers and stains. FILM REEL A home cinema designed for a family of theatre and film enthusiasts. This space is designed as an initiative to increase family bonding time. They all agreed they wanted a mix between a traditional theatre and a luxury commercial cinema. AFP achieved this fusion with the use of wall panelling. The walls of the cinema room were decorated in a strong red velvet fabric, reminiscent of the walls of a theatre. To avoid monotony, the fabric is broken with wood at intervals. The room is equipped with fully automated recliner chairs with ample sitting space and thick armrest for extra comfort. Like the desired luxury cinema, the cinema chairs are strategically placed on an elevated plane to further push the commercial cinema-going experience to the finish line. Amber mood is achieved with lighting design to inspire reverence and anticipation for what thrills are to come. All projects

IVY LEO A compilation of the bedroom scenes in our showroom in Maitama, Abuja. This compilation includes depictions of luxury hotel rooms fully fitted with an elaborate free-standing double bed accompanied by a single night case and side table, positioned on each side of the bed. The hotel room has a hybrid TV/dressing unit, a combination of a floating table with a small portion of the edge resting on the sideboard close to it, all collectively resting/mounted against the grooved wall panelling on the wall behind. As per hotel standard, the room also has a styling luggage rack. Alternatively, there is another room - the master bedroom with a built-in wardrobe unit and a double bed that rests against an upholstered wall panel which also functions as the headboard, continued with a bedroom bench identified as Pouf. The master bedroom has a free-standing unit with grove detailed doors and drawers that functions as a dresser/TV unit. The room is completed with a small reading area that includes a wingback chair, footrest and side table, and a sizable bathroom with a suspended vanity unit and an inset washbasin. All projects

The designer was inspired by a depiction of a little girl dancing in her garden, encapsulating the moment by recreating the pleats on the dancer’s dress as they swirled in the wind, using the vertical solid timber louvres that array round the table to form the legs. STONE COLLECTION In this collection, the designer was heavily influenced by petrology - the nature of stones, their method of processing and finishing. The designer focused on the smooth stone, ranging from the naturally occurring ones on the riverbank to the ones in trinket stores, hewed by industrial machines. The collection has four tables varying in sizes, ‘Tumbled’ being the largest and ‘Gem’ being the smallest. Across all four tables there is a similarity; the tables are stabilised with four legs, each tapered and connected to a horizontal piece, which is then connected to the wooden spine that holds it all together.
