AFP Wins Turnkey Furnishing Contract for Nigerian Petroleum Development Company Head Office January 21, 2021 Abuja Furniture Production (AFP), the furniture production unit of Nigeria’s pace-setting and most reliable engineering construction company, Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, has won its bid to provide turnkey furnishing for the Head Office of the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company (NPDC), a subsidiary of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC). AFP, it may be recalled, is the leading furniture production and furnishing design and implementation company in Nigeria. AFP has consistently on the merit won ‘Nigeria’s leading furniture company of the Year’ award for the last four consecutive years at the very highly rated annual Abuja International Housing Show which is reputed to be professionally governed by international best practices. AFP Expands Presence to Port Harcourt April 06, 2021 AFP has opened its latest Showroom in the beautiful Garden city of Port Harcourt.  The high-end AFP Port Harcourt Showroom has been carefully planned over the past two years and was finally commissioned in a 3-day exhibition of top class furnishing taste, elegance, functionality and style. Rivers State Governor, His Excellency Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, CON, was on hand to personally cut the ribbon to formally declare the AFP Port Harcourt Showroom open to clients. Wike said his administration has created a conducive investment climate in the State, and will continue to partner investors such the AFP who are taking advantage of the available opportunities. The governor said he had earlier approached the management of AFP in Abuja and encouraged them to come over to Port Harcourt to serve the South-South and South East geopolitical zones. AFP, the Governor said, has honoured their promise to eventually open a showroom in the Rivers State capital. Wike encouraged the AFP to diligently do their business, assuring the AFP management that he is convinced that they will be successful in Rivers State. Looking admiringly at the beautiful and elegantly laid out furniture on display at the showroom, Governor Wike said: “With the kind of work you have done here, and with the market, there was a need for you to bring a Showroom to Port Harcourt which will serve South-South and South-East Zone” . Speaking further, and to further incentivize the AFP employment-generating presence and work in Rivers State, Governor Wike said the State Government will award the furnishing of the State House of Assembly Quarters that is currently under construction to AFP. “We know that you will employ our people and that will reduce the level of unemployment in our State. The people will make money and feed their families” , said Wike  In his remarks at the ceremony, the South south/South east Regional Manager of Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, Engr. Juergen Fischer, said the Abuja Furniture Production (AFP) has come to Rivers State to stay as a business entity. This is the 5th consecutive time that the company will be winning the prestigious award. AFP Shines at Design Week October 31, 2022 Organiser of the epoch-making annual event, Design Week Lagos (DWL), Ms. Titi Ogufere, has described Julius Berger’s strategic business unit, AFP, as Nigeria’s leading furniture production company with no equal. Ms. Ogufere spoke at the just concluded 2022 edition of the DWL, held in Lagos, amidst similar encomiums from other high-profile visitors to AFP’s exhibition stand. She said, “The Julius Berger – AFP pavilion is a great stand with amazing new designs. Year after year in the Design Week Lagos exhibition, AFP’s product quality and strength keep pushing the standards higher. AFP is a superb Nigerian brand, consistently setting a global benchmark for the furniture industry” . The Managing Director of a leading technology company, Kawai Technologies, Otunba Akimbo Akin Olugbade spoke plainly in lauding AFP’s innovative and pioneering designs in the industry. “I have been coming to visit the AFP pavilion for years now. AFP always presents high quality, durable and new designs that can compete with the best anywhere in the world. Interestingly, AFP products are all made in Nigeria” , he said. Head of Properties (West Africa), Standard Chartered Bank, Anne Rinu, was also amongst the many other guests who visited the AFP Pavilion at the event. Conceived to present and celebrate the best in contemporary African design across categories, while bringing international field leaders and visitors to experience the most exciting work from the region, DWL, which is the third in the series, was founded by African design advocate, Titi Ogufere. DWL was first held in 2019 as a citywide celebration in Lagos, Nigeria, for over ten days promoting creativity and innovation across disciplines, including architecture, industrial design, interior design, furniture design, graphic design, and technology. The theme for the event this year was, “Beyond the Box”. The AFP team at the event was led by its Commercial Manager, Norbert Kossman.
